Bold Minimalism
While minimalist design has been trending for years, this new wave has been described as “minimalism on steroids.” Brands everywhere have been abandoning vintage elements for stark, bold statements. The trick is to place heavy emphasis on the few elements in a design, almost shouting at the viewer. This style usually includes heavy sans-serif fonts and plenty of white space. It has also proved to pair very well with striking color combinations. We think this trend is one that is impossible to ignore, literally!
Textured Grains
Gradients have officially been taken to the next level! Recently, designers have been observed adding film grain effects to their work, making otherwise flat 2D artwork feel more tangible. Even Adobe was caught using colorful, highly textured gradients in their MAX promotional materials. This trend is thought to have emerged due to our fatigue of flawless AI-generated imagery. Eventually we crave the life and soul that these imperfectly perfect textured gradients create.
AI-powered design
It is clear that AI-powered design is here to stay! Over this past year, we have seen how AI image tools have evolved for the better and how, in the right hands, they can be used to create powerful images. On top of this, the versatility of AI tools has helped 90% of creators with productivity, and many businesses have adopted or plan to integrate AI into their workflows. Love it or run from it, we have seen generative AI make an appearance in small and big brands alike, impacting our everyday lives whether we realize it or not!

Bold and Unconventional Color Combinations
They say rules are meant to be broken, and we’ve seen that a lot in the design world recently. Designers are using daring, unconventional colors to grab attention and add energy and playfulness to their branding. When done thoughtfully, unexpected color pairings can evoke fresh emotions, create memorable brand identities, and connect with audiences in a way that feels modern and exciting. It’s a fun trend we hope to see even more of in 2025!

Retro-Inspired Typography and Colors
Retro fonts are back and better than ever! When used in a modern context, retro-inspired branding can bring a sense of coziness and nostalgia to contemporary designs. Designers are incorporating these elements into everything from branding and packaging to social media and websites, giving their work a distinct and memorable edge.
These design trends offer exciting opportunities for our creative teams to push boundaries and deliver innovative solutions for our clients in 2025. As technology continues to advance and consumer preferences evolve, the design landscape will undoubtedly remain dynamic and exciting. By embracing trends and integrating them thoughtfully into our campaigns, we can ensure our work remains fresh, engaging, and impactful in the ever-evolving world of design and marketing.
